Appliance Installation & PAT

Portable Appliance Testing is required under ‘The Health and Saftey at Work Act 1974’ as appliances can easily become damaged or deteriorate and pose a great electrical risk. Not only commercial premises need PAT testing but also HMO’s as it is down to the employer or landlord to keep the appliances safe.

Appliances such as oven and hobs should always be installed by a competent electrician. Ovens and hobs will vary in different Kw ratings so they are not always a like for like swap and often the electrical circuit will need to be adjusted to suit the new appliance.
